About
I'm originally from Charleston, South Carolina, where I grew up and where most of my family still lives. I'm a proud uncle, an avid rollerblader, and a violinist.
Music is a constant for me. I've played violin most of my life, and I'm always picking up something new — mandolin, guitar, djembe, and whatever instrument I can get my hands on next.
I also love to cook, and lately I've been deep into fermentation — tending jars of things that are slowly, happily alive.
And you'll find me out on my skates around San Francisco — often on light-up wheels, usually with my dog Boulder along for the ride.
More than anything, I believe we have a moral obligation to do good with technology. So much of tech today optimizes for the wrong things — engagement that tips into addiction, growth that rewards greed, a persistent lack of diversity, and an anxiety that all of it leaves behind. I don't think any of that is inevitable. I try to do my small part to build things that are humane, inclusive, and worth people's time.
